Unlike its predecessors, a lot of levels in Metro Exodus feature wide-open areas rather than always shoving the player into narrow underground corridors and rooms. This is a very atmospheric and cinematic game that immerses you in its rich setting and requires that you stay alert and aware of your surroundings, lest you get surprise-attacked by an angry mutated animal or a hostile human NPC.
Metro Exodus, much like the other games from the Metro series, is a story-driven single-player FPS experience that, rather than encouraging you to run and gun away at your enemies demands that you take your time and slowly and carefully progress through its diverse levels.
